Honey I Shrunk Our Dough

18 Dec

Ran into an old friend at the airport during a longish wait for a flight. Obviously the conversation meandered into talking about other people..and then I asked him about a common friend AK…

“Hes in deep s**t these days” he mentioned.

“What happened?”

“Well, hes sleeping on the couch these days…”

“Hmmm what for…?” I was curious

Heres what happened to AK…

A few months ago, he suddenly had chest pains…he was sweating as well, and with a history of heart problems in the family, he was carted of to the emergency room by his wife…

On the way he decides to “bare” everything to his wife (he thinks hes dying)…and tells her about all those “rainy day” moneys that hes blown up in the stock market…the “investment” advises that he has disregarded, his spending money on a golf set etc etc…In the passion of the moment the wife is very forgiving..”Its ok.. get well..we’ll sort it out”

So they make it to the emergency room and find the real problem.. GAS ๐Ÿ˜€

Its very silent on the way back home…suddenly the missus brakes the car real hard, and then starts off with the expletives..about sister, mother etc…. She asked him to get out of the car and walk home but relented when she found he was wearing only his jammies and no slippers…

Apparently hes been on the couch ever since.

AK’s advise to fellow friends: “Never Confess Anything Until you are sure you are going to die”

    Really… Vijay!

It is she who should be on couch. Is she that dumb that she is clueless about her finances? Or is she only interested in her”presents”? We have many ladies even here, whose job is to go shopping but have never paid a bill or written a check for any utility. Wake Up people. Any family should almost always know where and how the finances are. A little bit of throwing around money is acceptable.

@My3: Come on.. I think she trusted him

Marriage is the trust, Vijay. I imagine many of us had arranged marriages. That is trust.

But checks and balances is a given. He should be able to trust her enough to tell her he bought a set of golf clubs for crying out loud!! And she should be trusted enough to not go on a screaming match because of that. Stock Market, Heck how many of us have lost money and not cried buckets over it. All part of life.

Anyway, I thought the diagnosis was much more fun than the couch part ๐Ÿ™‚ Heh heh heh.

@My3: Everyone is making fun of him for the Gas thing.. ha ha.. The guys in a good job and will make up that money in no time.. but then his wife will still add the old amount and say shes short by that much ๐Ÿ˜‰
In her defense.. she is such a mild mannered and gentle person…
