Bump, Lump and Slush

15 Dec

BWSSB stands for Bangalore Water Supply and Sewarage Board. They should change their name to Bangalore Bump Lump and Slush Board (BBLSB).

Between them and the BBMP (the Big BuMP)…the city roads are in a constant repair and seepage..

Heres what happens…

  • They dig up the road and just leave it like that..maybe they want people to get used to the lumps and bumps on the road…
  • Next the work starts..just to show their commitment to water…they flood the place…The result..The Addition of Slush to the Lump and Bump…
  • When they finish up, they just leave the place as is, for the BBMP (the Big BuMP) to repair the place.
  • The BBMP then hems and haws and does some half assed work which gets ripped apart at the slightest drizzle and we are back to Lump, Bump and Slush.
  • By then one of the BWSSB workers realizes he has left his spanner underground and they dig up the place all over again…

It goes on and on and on.. like the Energizer Bunny

Well I can see all the above from my window, sadly. Can’t help, if you ask these fellow to do something about it a) They don’t look at you b) When they so, its as if they own the city and we are just at their pity c) Pretend to ignore you. India hai Chalta hai?

I absolutely hate driving on these roads! They’ve gone beyond “terrible” and entered the realm of “hell”..!! I can’t go ten minutes without cursing! 😦

HA! Pliss to includu Mysuru also. We are like this wonly x-)

    Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
In August of this year they finished installing beautiful yellow and red pavers along the Sayyaji Rao pavements. AND they did a good job. So ofcourse we could not handle it! The government decided that they were going to widen the roads and had to cut down all the trees along both sides and pull out all the pavers. I have not seen it since then, but was thinking of the waste and also the millions(I am sure) that would have been pocketed for the pavers and later on for the widening! SIGH!!!

Busy time of the year with 2 kids Vijay. I always seem to be running around with them or for them 😀

My brother and parents just got back from KRS over the weekend. They visited the newly renovated restaurant. Report is that the placement is wonderful. Renovation is good. Food is okay. The road TO KRS is just horrible. My mother was wondering if this is the plight of the major and WONLY road to KRS how bad the other roads must be 🙂

The grim truth is that unless we change this style, there’sn’t much hope for the society.

We could retain it as BWSSB except what it stands for : Bengaluru Work Stopper and Screwup Board

Well put and I completely agree. If they can’t do what they are supposed to be doing the least they can do is rename themselves appropriately to what they actually do.
