Weekend Wonder-La

14 Oct

Went to Wonderla last weekend. Actually was dragged there by the two teenagers – My Son and Nephew. I went there braced for boredom but was pleasantly surprised. Its an extremely well landscaped place with enough lung space and some fantastic rides. Its extremely well maintained. Being a holiday the place was full but you never got the impression that it was crowded. We never waited more than 15 minutes for a ride.

Good things:

1. Nice and spacious
2. Great Rides for all age groups
3. Clean
4. Ample Parking

Not So Good

1. Food is so so (but then they need to feed a lot of people)
2. Staff can be a little bit friendlier (not easy considering the number of people they have to put up with)

Some pictures below:

Good Landscaping

Nephew and Son. They are happiest after being fed

The Rides are pretty cool as well

Now for my RANT !!!!

A special note to the guys…

1. Guys, please check with your significant other (I mean the wife) before wearing that swimming trunk. Or better look at yourself in the mirror. If your gut and the trunk are not visible together then TAKE THE HINT !!!!!

2.  PLEASE NOTE…. UNDERWEARS ARE NOT SWIMMING TRUNKS !!!!!. Its Wonderla and not UnderwearLa.

3. Please please DO NOT walk into restaurants in your swimming trunks (or underwears). Others are eating. At least wrap a towel around you.

4. Please please please dont wear a T-Shirt and seemingly nothing under.. I just had my lunch … (see picture below to see what I mean..)

What is he wearing (or is he)

What is he wearing (or is he?)

5. Dont Argue with the guard because the sign says Rain Dancing is only for kids and Couples…. you and your friend do NOT constitute “a couple”….

6. Don’t yell at the watchman because he told the apple of your eyes to stay off the restricted area. Didnt you see the sign?

that’s why the name is ‘wonderla’ not ‘knowforsurela’ – keep wondering! 😉

‘you and your friend do NOT constitute “a couple”….’

i know you are in india, but do note that in some states a couple can be defined as two individuals living collectively. if they were to visit india, they would remain a couple, wouldn’t they? 🙂

another point – it doesn’t take a clinton to dispute your definition of a couple being the most correct one – even a physicist might do so!

Never been to this place, so cannot comment.

But an amusement park which I found to be very neat and well-planned (great food also, btw) was Veega Land near Cochin!

And as someone already commented, the rants are hilarious! 🙂

We always see this on the Mysore-Bangalore road. I think there is one in Mysore also. Looks like I will be borrowing your boys to take my kids on these rides. I am terrified of them 🙂

But I agree fully with the underwear stuff. We see that in every river we go to. But it is very unfair of you to make me laugh out so loud when I am supposed to be sitting quietly while my highschooler does his work 😉
