Its so Boring !!!!!

13 Mar

Its so boring these days… everything is so quiet on the political front… whats happening? Is everyone asleep??

  • No one making idiotic statements
  • No one taking out protests against their own coalition partners
  • No one trying to stop development efforts
  • No burning of effigies

ITS SO BORING…

The most exciting thing thats happening here, is that the BBMP is trying to build a “signal free” road to the new airport. Current rumors are that this is going to be a one way road. You can reach the airport quickly but coming back is another question…. its signal free but U turns are allowed and autos can be parked anywhere… cows are allowed as well..

Talking about the New Airport its almost ready but theres no easy way to get to it. Our town planners and politicians were busy with their ego trips and forgot a minor issue.. YOU NEED A GOOD ROAD TO GET THERE !!

Note:Visitors to Bangalore (especially from the USA) please allow for 2 extra days of travel to and from the Airport.

The guys who have really really been shafted is the consortium that put the money in to build the airport.

Kumaranna had a small rally a couple of days ago in which traffic was held up for only two hours. How disappointing !!!

Wake up everyone !!!!!

You’re bored? Get into the politics over here then Vijay … never a dull moment in Australia.

Have you heard of Dr Brendan Nelson, new leader of the opposition since John Howard lost at the Nov election?

Brendan is famous for shouting out at a doctor’s union rally in the early nineties before he entered politics, “I HAVE NEVER VOTED LIBERAL PARTY IN MY LIFE”. Fast forward to 2008 and he’s the Liberal party leader!

To top it off his “approval rating” is just 7%. Yes, just one in 14 people think he would make a better PM than Kevin Rudd.

Now he’s talking about dissolving the Liberals (they’ve only been going 50 years) and starting a new opposition party.

I guess that’s because he’s “never voted Liberal in his life.”

Yes, it’s entertaining over here. Cheers.

I guess a better option wud be to allow short flights from the present Airport to the new Airport !!!
    🙂

😦 Ri, Vijay, naavu barode 4 weeks ge. In this 2 days up and 2 days down to airport :-(.
Seriously, I am going to ask my brother if flying into Madras is not a better deal for all of us?

  7. | Balu | March 13, 2008 at 4:45 pm #

Xylene spoke my mind! Ehmm but then what about the AIR traffic?

  8. Bhel Puri & Seekh Kabab March 14, 2008 at 12:51 am #

Lol, isn’t it funny how they discover that the ATC facilities at BIAL are not ready, two weeks before opening?! Nice way to deflect attention from the lack of a proper road, and shift the blame to the airport consortium.

  9. Vijay March 14, 2008 at 3:04 am #

@Cuckoo: Really need to do something about this !!!!
@Pranesh: I hope they have planned “better” things
@Ray: On this I HAVE to disagree with you… in the category of politics, your guys will be “out-scoundralized” by our guys.. anyday anytime…
@xylene: As Balu mentioned then there will be air traffic 🙂
@My3: Flight to Chennai and then a Shatabdi express to B’lore… lol.. 2 days was an exagerration.. at most 1.5 days..
    @Balu: touche
@BPSK: As someone commented… “These guys are acting as if the BIAL was a secret project for the last 3 years”…

Vijay, I thought Hilari and obama were keeping you busy 🙂
About Airport thing, I know I had missed my first flight due to this heavy traffic on the airport road…

Well, I had got this email some days back, wanted to send this to silkboard but couldn’t do. Me pasting it here.!

Subject: HAL Airport Functionality – Survey to decide

    A Request from R K MISRA – SAHYOG – A Public Private Partnership
    Initiative

    Dear Friends,

As we are getting closer to the opening date of New International
Airport – BIAL, on 30th March, the realization of inadequate
infrastructure and impending chaos is making all of us very nervous.

I am also part of the High Powered Task force Set-up by the Governor
to suggest and implement short and medium term measures.
I have attended these meetings and I am extremely concerned with the
preparedness of the bureaucracy in terms of adequate infrastructure
and management of traffic. It is going to be a chaos and we will take
anywhere from 2-3 hours to reach BIAL from South and South East of
    Bangalore.

I plan to do this survey to get to know the public opinion and their
concerns on this matter. Based on this survey, I plan to take
necessary step to find viable solutions including keeping HAL airport
function, till adequate and affordable infrastructure is provided for
all to reach the airport in around one hour.

So please send the above REQUEST along with the LINK below to your
employees, industry associations and friends’ organizations, who
would be affected by this shift to the BIAL. They need to click on
the link below to complete the survey.

This Misra guy is such a gasbag… I saw him at a CEO event organized by the Indo American Chamber of Commerce where he was part of a panel… the guy loves to hear himself talk.. he claims he will be PM in 10 years time..

My only question is what was Sahyog doing all this time??

  12. Vijay March 14, 2008 at 11:00 am #

@Veena: No interest in Hillamma and Obappa… I agree with MysooruBoyz above….

Oh yeah Vijay, ““out-scoundralized” maybe, but for sheer hilarity & stupidity it’s hard to go past Aussie pollies. We’ve got a rule – if your IQ is 100 or more you CANNOT run for office. It stops them getting “too smart” on us.

BTW, Aussie pollies are pretty high up in the ‘sex scandal’ area too – sex with underage people mainly!
