BCCI vs ICL – BCCI gets jittery

3 Aug

The honchos at BCCI are on shaky ground folks.. suddenly the ICL is nipping at the BCCI’s heels. The powers that be at the BCCI suddenly see the golden goose being threatened. This is clear from the comments that they are making.

I dont know if there is a law that makes the BCCI the sole purveyor of cricket in this country. Eventually Cricket is about entertainment and putting people in the stands. If the ICL succeeds in doing that, more and more players will join in. I think thats what the BCCI is afraid of.

Know what? I wish the ICL succeeds. I am tired of the BCCI being run by guys whose only affiliation to cricket is being photographed with cricketers. Its about time that the game is run by professionals.

ICL will take some time to catch up. But if they can sustain, they will be very successful…unless of course politicians get in there as well…

I think LOTS of people are rooting for the ICL. Would not be surprised if other country boards’ are rooting for it too, if only to see egg on the face of the arrogant BCCI officials. But then “egg on their face” is not a novelty either – it happens everytime they open their mouth.

I could not stand Dalmiya when he was the president of BCCI – but now I yearn for his return!

BCCI isreally scared. I am remebering the Kerry Packer series during my student days.
ICL appears to be a great threat than that and BCCI has indicated lifetime ban for players if they join ICL. let us wait and watch the developments

@Pranesh: I hope it wakes BCCI up from its “monopoly” attitude

@Neela: Most welcome.. unfortunately I cannot claim credit for the origin of the word…

CL should grow big and should become so lucrative that it makes ICC think about ICL as a better option than BCCI. Seems to be a remote possibility but it would be nice to see something like that happen. BCCI is nothing but Bandars Controlling Cricket in India, they look better in jungle or in a zoo. I hope they end up in a zoo.
