Hey SET Max !!! Are you watching ESPN?

7 Jun

I hope the powers that be at SET Max are watching ESPN’s coverage of the Afro-Asia cup.

Totally Professional. Especially the way they carry Advertisements. Unlike SET Max.

Frankly speaking, the difference in timing (when they start adverts after an over) is just a few seconds. That makes ALL the difference. They actually wait for the commentator to finish what he is saying before cutting away for an Ad.

Plus they dont have the Dancing Tiger doing the “bhalle bhalle”.. thank God !!

I havent seen the coverage , but by the looks of it ( interest in the matches ) ESPN would be paying advertisers for showing the ads :).
Looks like this sham is ; by the bookies , for the bookies

Fantastic coverage for such a meaningless tournament. Unfortunately not many are going to watch it.

@MP: Compared to the World Cup, there was quite a crowd…

While setmax wanted to MAXimize its money, ESPN is trying to maximise the coverage for the TV watcher. Hope setmax learns a thing are two atleast.

Sorry to lead the conversation on a tangent – but…
I was driving past the stadium the last two evenings and it was hard to believe that there were international matches going on! It was just like any other day. As a cricket fan there is something very fascinating about the concept. It was such a joy to see Jayasuriya and Sehwag walk out to open an innings. It was surreal to see Dhoni keeping wickets for Mohd Asif’s bowling. It was fun to see Jayawardene and Md. Yousuf bat together. Pity that these type of matches never evoke a good public response.

Yes, I was totally annoyed by the way they rushed to switch on the ads. Itw as quite new to me and damn irritatitng. As for the tiger, lesser said the better.
