Rains !!!

13 Apr

Whew!!! A respite from the heat.

It rained last night and what a welcome rain it was.

I was seated outside at a restaurant when it started raining and I swear I could hear the ground hiss as the first drops hit the ground.

Of course reality then set in. Electricity went out, people started slipping on the road. The drive home was a nightmare.

Wonder why this happens when it rains for the first time?

I remember the same in the US when the first snow falls. Traffic goes beserk.

    Yes, just thinking about it in the morning. I started first with standing on the portico & then pushing my hands towards the drops & then to get wet & I get to hear… ‘Ye maLeli nenibeDa, jwara baratte 🙂 ‘ , still the fun was ON..

    I was looking at the helium street lights & I could really see how big those drops were. GOD Bless bangalore! Lets hope for some more.

    when was the last time Bangalore had ‘aali kallu (hail stones) maLe ?.
    The sound of hail stones hitting the asbestos roofs is a thing to be experienced.
    A carpet of hail stones is a sight to behold!

    TSSM: I remember two years ago, a hailstorm where I live (BSK 2nd Stage)… We have a small lawn in front of the house which turned white… I remember during my Vijaya High days, we were once in a class with an asbestos roof… I can relate to the sound you mention above…

    Mungaru male…. :=-)

    Hail stones nearly broke glass panes a couple of years back. With the power cut, the entire night god was taking photos but he made tremondeous noise while doing so according to my junior.
