Good for some.. not so good for others

4 Feb

The BMP has done a fantastic job developing some wonderful parks in Jayanagar and Banashankari 2nd Stage (and in other areas as well I’m sure).

However this seems to be a double edged sword. On one hand its great for the residents of the locality, but its turning out to be a nightmare for people who live on the periphery of the park.

There is just not adequate parking and no one obeys the signs and end up making things very inconvinient for the people who live around here. Another thing is the various “food vendors” who frequent the locality. They leave back quite a mess when they leave.

I’m not complaining about the parks but I wouldn’t want to live around one.

Can these things be planned better or is this just the way life is? Should some people have to pay the price so the majority of the citizens can have a good time?

yes it is true this will be a really problem for those people. same thing applies to temples kalayanamatapas etc., which come out in a busy localities. and it will be a worst situation if there are students in that area.
we have got a gas godown in our locality just opposite to my house (belonging to a minister) lot of noise pollution and other related problems like parking the lorries on road affecting the traffic etc., we have spoken several times to the person and everytime it is promised that action is on hand to shift but when this will happen may be by that time we are so much accustomed if you dont hear cylinder noise you are not in peace no sleep no food etc., it is a irony no diferent than what is posted

Vijay, food vendors part can be fought via complaints to BMP. They listen, I have a successful second hand account to share.

Veena makes me realize we write and think similar, so you are blogrolled!

Pranesh avare: I can understand how you must feel…
Silkboard: I guess thats a battle that someone must take up… the Bsk 2nd Stage park is very popular and Sundays sees a lot of traffic… the interesting part about the whole thing is, the vegetable vendors are the ones who are there in the morning (they dont create too much of a mess), food vendors come in the evening.. an interesting case of targeted marketing 🙂
Thanks for the blogroll.. I have done so as well…
