Justice Served, Lalu Let Off and Other Stories

20 Dec

So Jessica Lall’s murderer is behind bars.. pending appeal of course. Now Ram Jethmalani is probably going to argue that Jessica shot herself and then blamed Manu Sharma (the fact that it isnt logically possible is not going to deter that idiot). Now the interesting part here is the other person convicted in this case is Vikas Yadav who is himself the main accused in another murder case. Is it a coincidence or does bad company find each other?

I think its the children of “powerful” people who blatantly display their “power” rather than the people in power themselves. Take for instance the case of Lalu’s daughter slapping a photographer.

Oh speaking of Bihar’s “first couple”, Lalu and wife Rabri were let off by the courts as well… seems they didn’t take the money after all… it just disappeared… How could we be so silly and accuse them?

Oh ya our politicians have this habit of shooting their mouths off and pretending that they never said stuff. Apparently sometime ago our CM, HDK said he doesnt want to waste public money by using a chopper. But now hes changed his mind and is renting one at Rs. 30,000/hr (according to Vijay Times). Then there was this other politician who threatened to retire from politics if anyone proved he had anything to do with some mining activity. Stamp papers were produced showing his name. As of now the idiot is still active.

Our newspapers who print all these exposes tend to forget about them. I wonder if that is because of a “friendly” call from the political circle. Vijay Times for instance does this VT Exclusive and then goes cold on the story. Is there a reason behind this?

There is a law, a judiciary to enforce the same but politicians ( those in power including ex politicins, y, z et all) are not to be touched by these laws… They are only for lesser mortals like us ahem the commners.

Just today heard that all politicians are getting togather to pass a law so that anybody can complain against the supreme court judge with majority. This ensures lalu and gang after conviction ( 12 donkey years later) appeal against the supreme court till the get a flavourable responce.

    jai hind.

    Mohan,

Adakkintha worst suddi andre parlimentarians are getting together in passing a law stating that Supreme Court should not interfere in their “activities”.

This comes right after the Supreme Court sentencing Mr Shibu Soren and others. Once one person is sentenced, the others become smart and try all sorts of dirty tricks to circumvent the law of the land.

Nange Social Studies nalli Judiciary is the highest power in the country antha odida nenapu.

Maybe it’s time to change the text books.

first clip has laloo very puny in front of huge stumps. the 3 stumps are labelled: “Disproportionate Assets Case”.

second clip has laloo gigantic in front of 3 puny stumps labelled: “Other Cases”.

    great cartoon!!

    Vijay,

That idiot Vikas Yadav needs to be in jail for the rest of his life…at the bare minimum.

I am not too sure about politicians feeding money into media, so directly…especially newspapers like VT (with KP at the helm)…it’s hard to imagine political ploy…it’ s just the way the game works.

I see in American media that certain murders and kidnappings catch all the attention, whereas certain others don’t. Why or what’s so big of one over the other…Nobody really knows. Infact, a few months ago there was a very nice program on what stories actually catch the attention of the media.

But, as you have rightly pointed out, the big difference in India is that the story somehow fizzles down completely, without a trace. I cannot understand how that is possible. But, pure money and muscle power cannot dictate thta…at least I hope so. What say ?

    My 2 cents….

Mohan, Vani: Definitely time to change textbooks… When it comes to these issues ALL parties are together… after all every politician has skeletons in his closet.

DS: Correct.. maybe not muscle power .. but everyone needs a favor sometime or the other… It will be interesting to find the root cause of the “fizzle out”
