It’ weird, isn’t it? the ridiculous part is that neither the Queen or the British Government would give a rats if we became a Republic and dumped the Queen as our figurative head of State. So it’s only the stick-in-the-mud Aussies too afraid to cut the apron strings that keep it as it is. I think the desire by a lot of people to “keep Oz as a white anglo-saxon country” drives that too. The strange part is that England is no longer ‘white anglo saxon’, and neither is Australia, really. Cheers.

I loved the grand spectacle! What fun. We had scones, clotted cream, strawberries, coffee, juice, heart shaped cookies, flowers and British flags with the wonderful couple in the center. Best wishes hope their life will be better than his parents.
