“Weasel”ing Out

The story line pays out again and again and again…

1. Politician Is caught with his hand in the cookie jar (or with his pants down)

2.He denies vehemently. His supporters break a few windows and burn a few buses

3. Suddenly he realizes that his game is up.

4. He then develops either chest pains or breathing problems and is taken to hospital.

By the time he gets out another of his buddies has diverted attention by doing something else…

Case in point Madhu Koda former Jharkand CM.

If only they could use half this creativity for other peoples good…

Tsk Tsk Tsk Vijay Saar. Poor Madhuji has a “history of medical problems”, and they still “… cannot say what exactly is the problem” See this is not the first time he has had medical problems that has necessitated Apollo ;-)

What amazes me the most is that we the good people of India just sit by and let all these things happen. Every time I go to Mysore or Bangalore there is progress, can we even begin to imagine how wonderful India would be if our politicians were a BIT more honest? WOW!! That would be a wonderful thing. I guess that is why we are all called dreamers.

That’s a great introduction to Indian politics for a newbie!
You just about summed up how it all works.

Great Vijay! Nice summary!! We the citizens talk about this, calculate how much s/he would have swindled, speculate where the money is stashed away; Netizens blog too . At the end of the day (or year or decade) we’re just a bunch of frustrated citizens incapable of doing anything. I’m one such highly frustrated soul who don’t simply believe in this DemocraZy anymore. How many children (leave alone adults) don’t have even one meal a day! These criminals are in the A/C rooms of renowned hospitals. Who foot the bill? – you and I!
Politicians fly from Delhi to State capitals to fix “internal” problems but never to seek the voters’ welfare. Can India every change?

Simi very well put..Another case in point was the recent crisis in the BJP in Karnataka. These guys were playing cheap politics when large parts of the state needed relief works for the floods..

Well brought out Vijay. Unfortunately the law is very lenient with them

This happens with any politician coming under the net.
I can’t fathom how he managed to stack away 100 odd crores in offshore banks. And his proud wife goes on to say- Let them prove him guilty, as if she has sicilian blood:)
    Good posst. simple yet effective

Yeah, it applies not only to politics but to any rich person, like Ramalinga Raju for example.

Reminds me of a Ronald Raegan quote : Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.

    Cheers,
    Salil
