Bombs go off.. we rant for a day… promise ourselves to be extra vigilant and life goes on.. but no tension.. Bangalore rebounds.
Bad Infrastructure.. grumble grumble grumble… but then life goes on.. what can we do?
My personal opinion… places should be allowed to remain open late… but a Dharna for this??? Come on…. Get real.. Get a Life… Party on…
Priorities… Priorities…
In the meantime, political leaders say NO !!!! They dont want this to interefere with their partying 😉
They Say:
Even dancing in discotheques is heavily restricted, because the government fears that allowing dancing may lead to dance bars springing up.
Vijay, why aren’t you partying over India’s first ever gold medal at the Olympics?
I nearly fell off my chair when the commentator said that. Not because you won it, but because (according to him) it was India’s FIRST EVER ! Is that right?
Btw, is it saying something that the sport was, err, shooting?
Anyway, I guess he’ll now be made for life. Good on him.
hahahahaha
you are right. The minute someone say the taxes are increasing for alcohol, we are gonna close dance bars… we get a 1000 protestors !!
May be terrorists could kill people here, by just cutting down the alcohol supply line.
But these dance in bars are becoming too much these days isn’t it? Atleast the way media projects it. I haven’t seen all these personally but just few days, there was some serious drug things while some techies went on for weekend partying, dancing etc., Atleast I can’t hear somebody saying, “Sangeetha” keLodu tappu andre ? Pls Sangeetha and the atrotious disco music ?
Vijay, places should be open atleast upto 12:30.
Ray, Gold winner guy is millionaire now.
@Ray: Its the first individual Gold.. previous wins have been by the Hockey team in days gone by…. pretty sad… but then sports in India is run by politicos and they tend to have what you Aussies call a “Sheltered Workshop”…
@xylene: Booze and Bengaluru… a killing combination
@Veena:Dance bars are banned….
@Python: I am all for things being open late.. my rant was that they didnt need to go on a dharna for that 🙂
Ah yes, the hockey. How could I forget that? So this guy, the first individual wiinner of a gold medal, will he be a national hero? Will he earn mega-bucks?
@Ray: Apparently the guy is pretty wealthy on his own.. but yes he will do very well in the Ad Circuit…already various state governments have started falling over each other to announce cash prizes for him…He will do well to milk it…
Well, it is good to hear that somebody other than a cricketer will earn some moolah from the govt. Why should it always go to the cricket teams. Can you imagine plots being given away in Bangalore and then they sell it for crores!! Yikes.
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY for India’s Latest Gold 🙂
Read a nice cartoon in the papers today, where two people were talking over a beer and were suggesting that life would be much more simpler if police stations closed early! 😀
Very misplaced sense of priorities, I say. Where is the civic sense in today’s youth? :p
this is an off-on argument ,wonder who will finally win ?us or the GOV ?
Us? Gov is us or as we like to say in the US
Gov R Us 😉
heh heh heh.
ps: as you can tell, I would rather be commenting and reading blogs than unpacking suitcases!
