Bangalore Circa 1946

Do you recognize these places?

brigade.jpg mgroad.jpgstmarks.jpg

From Left: Brigade Road, MG Road, St Marks/MG Road Junction

mayohall.jpg townhall.jpg

From Left: Mayo Hall (MG Road) and Town Hall (JC Road. Observe the two way traffic)

Finally I leave it to you to guess which this road is. Its one of the busiest and a major artery today and leads to the HQs of several large companies.

to be honest, i don’t think mg road/brigade road area was much different in the early 1970s.

Loely pics. Wish i could blow them up and keep gazing…u will never see it in reality again. It also makes me think of the TV serial Malgudi days where the scenes and settings were a little similar. Though it was in hindi, the cast were from kannada industry; master Manjunath and the others. Wonder when such programs will be made. Found this article interesting…posting the link. Read opinions on our Bengalooru today…
