Theres a waterpipe that burst near my house yesterday. Gallons and gallons of water are flowing unabated. Yet 24 hours later NO ONE has attended to it even though we have complained several times. It pains me to see drinking water go down the drain (literally)
Did someone say we had water shortage?

We should start deducting money from the salaries of Divisional works manager down to the lineman and if it re occurs stop water supply to these esteemed people for 4 days to make them understand the plight of people who dont get water due to their negligence.
A little digging will bring out very stupid issues like
a) LIne men went on urgent leave so nobody around
b) We have no budget to replace rusted pipes but keep repairing them with bandages
c) We have put up papers and is about to be sanctioned for new lines
d) The BMP is not giving permission to dig and repair.
But none of the above justifications are good for wasting water. Future wars will be fought for this and the old saying that all honnu, hennu, hennu will bring doom should include ganga hennu too.
good post.

Such a sad waste!
The concerned officials must be heavily penalised, then only they will learn the lesson… but I think even to pay the fine they will extract bribe from us only
Ultimately we have to pay the price!

still officials are not realising the issue as for them if not water in pipeline it goes in tankers. stopping such wastages will go long way in keeping the resources. every drop saved is two drops produced all should learn the importance of water and save for future generation
really a social awareness issue raised and needs to be tackled on war footing.
